Then They Came For Me

In 1945 a man named Martin Niemoller wrote the following poem. It has been quoted many times since.
First they came for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up,
because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up,
because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.While Martin is credited for the poem many contest it was not him at all and some assign it as an unknown author. In a society where no human need is assigned a special value, where it is more important to save the whales than our fellow man, gnawing questions are beginning rise like plants buried under the by product of a mail cow. More and more people are standing up and asking, "When will it be our turn to benefit from our own labors?" We do all the work and the government allows the companies to reap all the benefits. Oh, say what you want, there is no company in these United States that would not out source your job if they could figure out how to.

This is compounded by the "illegal immigrant" problem. Well, excuse me, but if the government would stop allowing companies to outsource all the entry level and mid-level positions to India and China, maybe our young people would have a place to start. How can American policies be good for our children? Illegal immigration was never a problem when there were jobs for the entry level people to do. Additionally, since there is no place for the entry level (and most of the mid-level) people to work any-more because of the "jobs gone to India" sign on the door, the rest of us are carrying the burden for the entire world! First we became aware that the population of the United States is bearing the burden of all development costs of drugs discovered and manufactured in the United States.

No problem ? the old folks can send off to Canada and save themselves a bundle; Canada regulates the drug companies so that they don't gouge the population. If all the other countries in the world regulate the drug business and the US does not where would you do your research? This is not the last bastion of freedom it is the last bastion of corporate misconduct!.You can't have it both ways. Either you allow the little guy to succeed so you don't need the big corporations or you regulate the corporations so that they can serve the whole population.

I guess what really drives this is the oil prices. How many times recently have we heard that oil prices are going up because of Chinese consumption? Guess what?.China regulates gas prices so that the oil companies can not make exorbitant profits from the population. Yet, oil companies are declaring the highest profits in history! As Ronald Reagan used to say, "There you go again.".

Our government is allowing the oil companies to milk the citizens of the United States for the perceived profits the oil companies are loosing because of global regulation. The oil companies are selling more oil in China but the profits are coming out of our pockets! Isn't it time we put an end to this? Isn't it time to allow the American worker to work on a level labor field?.
